A traditional all-timber fencing option that creates a natural, consistent finish throughout the garden. The fence is constructed using pressure-treated timber posts, gravel boards, rails and boards.
The gravel boards raise the fence boards away from direct ground contact, helping to protect them from moisture and extend their lifespan. This is an attractive and cost-effective choice that can be built in either an open-board or close-board style.
Frequently asked questions
My fence is fine but the posts have rotted — can you just replace those?
Yes — post replacement is bread-and-butter work. We dig out the old post, set a new pressure-treated one in concrete and re-fix your existing fence to it.
Why fit gravel boards at all?
They keep the fence boards out of the wet ground — the single biggest factor in how long a fence lasts. Replacing a worn gravel board is far cheaper than replacing rotted fence boards.
